That difficult part

"It's not you, it's me"
"I need space"
"Thing are not the same anymore..."
"I have changed"

blah blah blah

Starting something is usually difficult ~ be it a business, a relationship, an article, a new career. Sometimes when I blog I find it hard to write the first sentence so I hit the enter key and proceed to the 2nd paragraph. But what's even more diffucult is writing the ending paragraph. Maybe because ending something - other than an article - is really the most difficult part of all.

As all of us would agree, it's hard to say goodbye.

Now I don't know how to say this but here goes. I'm closing this blog now and this will be my last entry. Yeah. No more updating of graynpink dot blogspot. I feel like things have changed 'round here. Or maybe I have changed. It's been a good two years of blogging and what's even better is that I met a lot of interesting and nice bloggers online and in person. But this graynpink blogger needs a change of space. And you all know that anything nuvou excites the easily-bored in me. So that goes to show that I'm not saying goodbye to blogging completely. Heck, no! I still love blogging! But I'm setting up a new blog somewhere which I will tell you (in your blogs) about. Meanwhile, I'll be blogging temporarily in my multiply account, link of which is somewhere in this page. You can visit me there so you'll see most of my recent shots.

So I guess that's all for this blog. Hope you had a good time being with me as I saw the world through pink-colored glasses. I'll see you next time in my new crib. ;)

And as they say, there are no goodbyes, only... latah! *wink

A kid @ the Casino

This is funny.

Me and my friend were at the side street of the new Hyatt Hotel when we bid each other goodbye (for the night) and being the tamad and sometimes-maarte that I am, I decided to take the Casino entrance of the hotel to get to the Lobby and from there ride a taxi going to Westin. See, I didn't wanna walk all the way back to Pedro Gil anymore. It's just a short distance but I hate the pollution so I thought it'd be better if I enter the airconed premises of the hotel. But I guessed wrong.

"Hindi ka pwede dito", said the lady guard at the entrance

"Bakit po? Punta lang ako sa lobby", I, in tshirt and jeans with backpack, asked.

"Bata ka pa. Minor ka pa"

I opened my mouth to protest but then... "Ah ganon po" (trying so hard to conceal my amused reaction)

"Oo, lumabas ka na lang at dumaan ka sa kaliwa papuntang lobby"

And I, being a good kid and all, politely turned around and exited.

Times like this, a proof of age is unecessary. And it's a-ok. *grins*

While I was gone

...I went to Coron, Palawan where

Coron, Palawan

me and my 2 best friends island-hopped, swam with fishes, trekked mountains, braved the big waves, took about 500 photos, and celebrated my birthday on an island (see previous post) where we feasted on fried chicken, crabs, baked macaroni, grilled seafoods and get this - ice cream! It was my best birthday yet. :)

(for more Coron pics, you can visit my multiply album)

When I got back to Manila, we had our annual National Conference and I slept in the Hello Kitty room of Westin...

Things to do in the coming year

2. Go to Palawan and Boracay
3. Sleep more
4. Go to as many places as possible
5. Get back into the habit of sending greeting cards.
6. Build a new online folio
7. Climb atleast one mountain
8. Save, save, save! to travel, travel, travel!
9. Take up dressmaking
10. Redecorate room
11. Load up on sunblock
12. Watch more movies, read more books
13. Join photo contests
14. Learn how to drive a stick shift
15. Work on getting a byline on print
16. Join an environmental organization
17. Find him

I needed to list them down so I could check time and time again if I'm doing what I had promised myself to do and at the end of yet another year I would see how focused I had been. In the past I used to just set a goal or two for the year and strive to get 'em. I did get (almost) all of 'em. This year I wanna see how I would fare given a list of small and big goals. And out of those 17, I hope to get atleast 15. Heck, I'm wishing to get all of them! :D
